A writer is a person
Who sees the world differently

Who buries their ego and places boulders upon it

And make writing their own

i got flowers oncei am lonely.
i received flowers once
and i placed them
in a vase til
the petals all browned
desiccated
and turned to dust
on the glass of my bureau.

i have never gotten flowers since.

i spend my days
with a boy

i bite my nails
and pull my hair
over the moment when he

it's been a long, long time
since I've drowned your hemisphere
for fishing like a moonraker,
swishing my bait-lines like tobacco's
squished in your shallow gums
before you dare to down my air
breathing in this sincere georgia night.

I only eat one meal a day because he constantly puts me down
Even though he's joking, I can tell he means every bit of what he says

just for the sound--for the words lilting up and down
and the thick, honeysepia
polaroids unmisting in my head.
those are the poems i never understand
and the only conclusion i can draw is:
there is apparently
some supernova poetic awakening that comes
with the loss of virginity
and basically i need to get laid.

letter to the stars.

Should I wish on you again tonight before close my eyes to sleep? Should I dream of my wish and wish it all through the night. There isn't really any point in my wish. I know it will reach you years too late, I was told it takes about 8 (or even more if you are very big and far away) but I think I'll wish all the same.

If I promise it will be small and fairly simple. Not hard at all! Can you try extra hard to stay nice and bright till it arrives. I won't ask for much. Just one wish. And you don't have to grant it tomorrow or even next week. I can wait. I'm only young. I've got time (at least some).

I wonder if you will get it or if it will pass you by and carry on out into space into the eternal midnight sky.

All I ask is that you shine a little longer so I can find at least one reason to see each day to the end and not cry when the night draws in. I hope you can shine long after I'm gone so I can join you and sparkle all night long.
Please grant my wish it's only small.
Let me look up so I won't fall.
